Who is Estelle?

Estelle Hjertaas is a passionate, dynamic Legal Aid lawyer who was born and raised in Saskatchewan. Estelle is a devoted community leader who has always felt that public service is a duty. She has dedicated her life to helping people and fighting for those without a voice. Estelle is asking to be your voice in Ottawa to bring resources to tackle the challenges facing our communities.

Estelle has served Prince Albert, fostering connections by founding Prince Albert Young Professionals and Prince Albert Salsa, promoting childhood literacy by co-founding the local Dolly Parton Imagination Library,  and sitting on eight other boards including the JMC Library, the Prince Albert YWCA, the Co-operative Health Center and La Société Canadienne Française de Prince Albert. In addition, Estelle is a new mom and has been a foster parent. She is a union member and volunteers with organizations including Pro Bono Law and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
